We are two weeks into our discussion of the beatitudes.
This week we find ourselves being starred in the face by the words of our Savior who says,
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Those who cry, those who lament, those who mourn - they are the ones who recieve comfort.
What does it mean to be a people who can mourn together, mourn our sin, mourn our hurts, and so in our sorrow... find the living God coming next to us and residing within us.
But thats not enough. God calls us beyond being comforted. To the point where He says to us that we are so much His and His very own body, that He will use us to comfort others.
Our prayer is that this discussion of the beatitudes doesn't end with a conclusion. - But that it ends with the beginning of a Christ-like lifestyle that comforts those who mourn.
We extend our prayers to Haiti right now, pray with us.
