Comfort

In our Life groups we've been spending the past few weeks discussing the Holy Spirit.

The fact is most of us know something about the Spirit, we all seem to have some sort of Spirit-theology...
But what does it mean for us not to simply continue on into the never ending depths of understanding the Spirit and really spend time focusing on what does it mean to live in relationship to the Holy Spirit as He lives within us?

Sure we all know about the Spirit... but do we live like we know what we know?

One of the main characteristics of the Spirit is that He is our Comforter..
And a-lot of us find that, well... comforting... But perhaps the truth is for many of us that we already have quite a bit of comfort in our lives. I mean for real, we live in America. We are the "experts" on what it means to live comfortable lives.

And so for many of us to be at a place that we need a Holy Comforter in and at work in our lives... is just not day to day business.

But what if it was?

What if it was our business as Christians to live day to day lives that danced upon the edges, that walked upon the fringes, to find ourselves in desperate places where we needed the Comforter.. the One who speaks for us when we don't know what to say (when was the last time you were in desperate need for a response?).. the One who guides our daily steps...

Somehow there seems to be a deep connection in our relationship with the God who lives inside of us, and being at a place of desperateness.
